About Us…

Donta Johnson has over 25 years playing experience. He had the honor and privilege of playing basketball professionally with the Connecticut Pride (CBA/IBL) and Springfield Slamm (EBA) for several years.

While at Springfield College, Donta was a two year captain and two-time All-American. He earned Conference Player of the Year honors, selected to the All-Conference team three times and received New England Basketball Unsung Hero Award. Donta led Springfield College in assist and steals all four years and scored more than 1300 points in his career. In October 2013, Donta Johnson was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at Springfield College. In the classroom, Donta received a Bachelor’s Degree (counseling and Casework) and Master’s Degree (Athletic Counseling) both from Springfield College.


Donta’s accolades include two-time All-American, induction into the Athletic Hall of Fame at Springfield College.


As a high school athlete Donta’s accolades include All-State, All-County, County Player of the Year for football and several MVP awards in various tournaments and State and county playoff games as well as all tournament honors. He received the most prestigious award the Con Edison Award, given to an athlete who exemplifies success academically and athletic during his junior year. Donta was received the highest honor being inducted into his high school Hall of Fame the first year the school began inducting athletes.

Donta’s coaching experience started when he began coaching summer league basketball, church league teams and PAL league (high school and middle school). In Connecticut, he has coached boys and girls AAU teams under Drive4stardum, travel basketball and he currently trains boys and girls through individual lessons, team and group training. Players travel near and far to train with Donta, most of his players have gone on to earn scholarships to play at the Division I, II and III level (merit scholarships). These players have reached their goals by participating in individual training, group/team training or through the Drive4stardum AAU program. The Drive4stardum program also offers coaching clinics. This program has been in place to assist CYO, Travel or AAU coaches conduct drills that will help improve team play, motivate team/players as well as other aspects of the team game (plays, situations, schemes, etc).
